Test Feature
UXR, Wireframes and High Fidelity Designs for a completely new Test Feature
What?
Development of a Test Feature that allows trainers to assess their trainees’ exam readiness. They should be able to select relevant topics and define whether the tests should take place under exam-like conditions.
Why?
Trainers need a simple tool to specifically check their trainees’ learning progress and prepare them effectively for school exams. Since they often have little time to cover school-related topics alongside company training content, the feature aims to make this process more efficient, transparent, and intuitive.
How?
User research with trainers from companies of different sizes and job areas to understand needs and usage contexts.
Creation of initial wireframes based on the insights and implementation of an iterative design process in close collaboration with development and stakeholders.

User Research
As part of qualitative user research, ten trainers from companies of various sizes were interviewed. The interviews were based on a previously developed questionnaire and systematically evaluated afterward. The goal was to identify shared needs and differences in how exam preparation is practiced, assess the relevance of the planned feature, and define priorities for an initial MVP.

Wireframing
Since this was a new feature, we developed Wireframes early on to optimize collaboration with stakeholders. This allowed us to involve development already in the concept phase and align on the planned user flow together. The wireframes made it possible to adjust requirements and layouts quickly and flexibly whenever needed.

Final Designs
After the general structure had been agreed upon with all stakeholders, we designed the screens step by step, taking into account the different roles (trainer and trainee). By using wireframes and involving development early, we were able to make the design process efficient and required only a few adjustments during the implementation phase.

User Research
Through user research, we identified which features and settings trainers need in order to replace their current testing method with this new Test Feature. Key requirements included a Report Functionality to display participants’ results per test, a time limit, the option to filter for exam-like questions, and an easy way to add or remove participants.
Design Phase
This was the first larger project in which Wireframes were created to visualize Concept ideas at an early stage. They provided a solid foundation for informed discussions with stakeholders and enabled developers to estimate the project scope early on, making planning and implementation more efficient.
